I have been working at Genworth full-time

    Pros

Opportunities to be exposed to a complex business with many different products
    Lots of smart people
Some departments have good work life balance

    Cons

Management has plainly stated that the company is not performing and this will result in more layoffs. This is causing people to look for ways to keep their jobs while cutting other people's.

    Advice to Management

Get it over with. The longer the process drags on the more successful the politically entrenched deadwood will be at preserving themselves.

I have been working at Genworth full-time

    Pros

Good benefits, onsite gym, childcare reimbursement, great people! There are alot of opportunities to move within the company, lots of promotion from within and lots of support for learning and development.

    Cons

Very hard times since 2008. Struggling USMI business. Poor financial performance overall. Lots of pressure from stockholders. Too many layoffs as a result.

    Advice to Management

I think an excellent decision was made when Mike Frazier was relieved of his duties. I believe Tom McInerney will do all he can to turn the ship around.
