I have been working at Genworth full-time

Pros

Competitive salary and bonus structure, encourages employee health and wellness, friendly environment, able to learn many new skills. Many employees seem to be lifetimers and seem to really believe that the company is good to work for so it is a positive work atmosphere.

Cons

Some middle managers are put in their positions because of tenure and knowledge but don't have the people personality to effectively manage and gain the respect of their staff. Have heard that company reorganizes every couple of years causing layoffs and contractor reductions each time, limiting movement around the company but required to pick up all of the additional work that was handled by those that were let go.

Advice to Management

Have more employees cross-trained so operations are less dependent on the large number of contractors, then you may not have to layoff and cut contractors each time you change your business model to improve profitability

I have been working at Genworth full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Transparent business plan based on integrity and a true desire to improve the industry by adhering to common sense guidelines.

    Cons

Sales are micro managed. In order to be successful and hit your goals, you need to dedicate 60+ hours a week to this job, 30 of those hours are doing nothing more than completing nonsense admin tasks. Too many layers of management and each level imposes silly, mind numbing tasks.
