I worked at George Mason University part-time (More than 5 years)

Pros

The Collaborative Learning Hub is a great opportunity to build a lot of different skills while you're going through school. You'll become proficient ins software that is typically used throughout the working world. You'll build a lot of skills and learn a lot about working with a variety of different people.

Cons

The pay isn't extremely high for the area. Occasionally office politics show up, but rarely change the day-to-day operation of the lab.

Advice to Management

Keep doing what you're doing.

    Pros

    The work isn't difficult and the expectations are not high

    Cons

    definitely underpaid as a result of years of wage freezes due to the state budget issues
    no accountability, some people are just warm bodies that fill positions
    not a lot of opportunity for advancement, you have to be in the right place at the right time to move forward in your career

    Advice to Management

    Set higher standards for your administrative employees and hold them accountable for the quality of their work

    I worked at George Mason University as an intern (Less than a year)

    Pros

    Provides a competitive environment
    They have excellent facilities
    The team member are highly encouraging

    Cons

    Not highly paid ,they have limited public transportation ,they work even on weekends and holidays . The shifts are mid night shifts

    Advice to Management

    They should have meetings with all their employees to discuss the changes to be brought to further the development of the department
