Cons

Painter foreman control nut, treats employe's like old rags. Not enough work short stay. Work sent to other states union an non-union.

Advice to Management

Need someone else to run paint shop. Painters stay away from G P J ( Good ones) Helpers to. Lots went to Exibit works did not take G P J calls.

I have been working at George P. Johnson full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Great work life balance, ability to work from home when needed - flexibility when you are on the road. Many times you will be allotted free days of PTO if you have been overloaded with work or have been traveling.

Good experience learning project management skills, working with well known fortune 500 companies - looks good on a resume. You have the opportunity to work on a variety of different projects and are given a say-so on what you work on.

    Cons

The staff is horribly under paid considering the amount of work you put in. The "bonuses" and "raises" are essentially non-existent. There are people on staff who have worked for the company 10+ years and have only gotten pay raises 2-3 times.

There are a lot of politics that come into play when it comes to who is promoted, it's not necessarily based off performance. It's almost not worth it to get promoted because you will get 5X the work with a VERY minimal pay increase. There's not a lot of room to grow with the company.

    Advice to Management

Run your business less like a high school cheer leading squad.
