I worked at Georgia-Pacific as an intern (Less than a year)

Pros

Very relaxed atmosphere. If you are a peoples person you will fit right in. The work load was not overwhelming like some companies. There were a lot of knowledgeable staff members present.

Cons

"Tomorrow" seemed to be my sites motto. There were times when I could not complete my work because either the person was too busy or they just didn't feel like helping me at that time. The pay for interns was not as well compensated compared to other companies. From what i heard they do not pay the entry level engineers very well (3 quit while i was there), and there is little room for upward movement because people tend to stay in positions for long periods of time.

    I worked at Georgia-Pacific full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

Decent pay and benefits although they have been cutting both significantly in recent years and, or replacing senior more experienced people with lesser experienced employees to save money.

    Cons

High Employee Turnover due to lack of opportunity and company. GP (Koch Brothers) are only out for themselves and do not follow their own company guiding principles.
