Pros
GP builds roles and responsibilities around the company need and specific capabilities and passions of the individual. There are no “cookie cutter” positions that any perspective employee must fit into. Roles shift based on comparative advantage of the individual within their organization. The company culture ideals are good, with guiding principles that I can relate to. As a private company, GP has an intent to invest in the long run versus decisions made for investors that are often short sighted.
Cons
We don’t have standardized titles which makes it difficult to assess market data for our next best alternative. Additionally, similar to any large company, your experience directly relates to the quality of your leadership team. The journey to full application of the company culture is different by each leadership team, which makes a difference in how employees are treated across the company.
