Pros

Georgia Tech offers highly challenging and exciting opportunities because of the number of interdisciplinary projects involved. Having tie-ups with industries add to its value.

Cons

The major downside is the emphasis on a lot of coursework in the very first semester of school. Can be avoided.

Advice to Management

You do offer a lot of stress-relief counseling centers. But the coursework is way too stressful. Otherwise I loved schooling at Tech.

    Pros

It is a flexible job . You work and study at the same time so the deadlines are rather flexible.

    Cons

There are no benefits, just a lame health insurance package!
Raises and compensations are given very rarely
Very low income compared to what you'll be getting as an engineer working for a company

    Advice to Management

Have annual reviews and goals and coordinate that into giving raises and compensations. Have weekly meetings to follow up on the research problems.

Highly regarded, Good weather, Great facilities, Top notch researchers

    Cons

Advisors are very smart, but don't always make the best managers. Don't get a lot of guidance in research directions. Need to be a self-starter.

    Advice to Management

    Better guidance for entry researchers.
