I have been working at Giant Eagle part-time (More than 3 years)

Pros

Mostly a friendly work environment. I am 21 years old and i work with people my age. The company works around your availability very well. I am a college student and can only work certain hours and they give me a good amount of hours. Pay is not bad either for just being a cashier or cart pusher.

Cons

As what you would expect sometimes customers could be rude. Wish we had our own baggers, this would make ringing register a little less stressful.

    Pros

This is a great growing company with a big future..Career opportunities are challenging and rewarding, All levels of leadership offer open communication. Flexible scheduling allows entry level Team Members a balance between home life, work and school.Department Leaders are thanked and rewarded for a job well done. Guests get better treatment because Team Members are happy.

    Cons

Sometimes the road to full time is not quick enough and good employees look for other opportunities and leave. Hourly employees are all paid the same because of the union. It would be nice if over achievers could get better pay, this might motivate other to earn higher reward

    Advice to Management

Continue to grow. Continue to hire and not participate in the economic down turn.
