    Pros

Decent Pay, could be a great company if they actually lived by their core values.

    Cons

Store Management is unprofessional, it’s very clicky, if you’re not part of the “in crowd” you get treated poorly. External employees hired on are treated horribly and trained by people who really dislike their job. Upper Management (area managers/regional managers) barely visit stores and when they do, it’s always something.

    Advice to Management

Stop being cheap and kill the dual store idea. You’re running people ragged and when new people come on, they get bombarded with that negativity. People who are supposed to be mentors, should be able to talk to people and not accuse people over he say/she say. That’s so unprofessional. Stop trying to run stores on little to no hours, and actually let your store leaders have a say in how they run their stores and you’ll see big changes!

I worked at Giant Eagle part-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

friendly environment part of a union (i had minimal association w/ them but they were there if needed) has some benefits (health care, etc) job requires some effort but can be relatively easy was relatively flexible in working around a school schedule good overall job to have while in school

    Cons

Repetitious work that gets boring fast, and hearing the same songs on a loop day after day knee pads are almost needed due to all the time you're kneeling on the hard floor other co workers often complained about scheduling issues, but in my experience management did what it could to balance schedules

    Advice to Management

Try to be receptive to workers' suggestions or explain in situations your actions
