Pros

At least the cookies are delicious!

Cons

The management is grimy, treacherous, self-serving, self-promoting and unstable!

Advice to Management

Stop picking on Ana M. Chavez...she is the best thing ever happened to GS! She faces resistance and treachery at every turn from people who smile in her face and she doesn't deserve it!

I have been working at Girl Scouts USA full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

The organization is actively trying to make the ways of work, culture and state of the business better by having the hard conversations. They are incredibly flexible with schedules and the hierarchical structure has been flattened. With the changes, things are getting done faster and more collaboratively. The project based structure allows you to work with different people and change your work regularly.

    Cons

The environment, while changing, is slow to progress and the old culture of "mother may I" and no empowerment still exists a bit. With the changes, comes time and while, I believe the organization will be running fantastically in a few years, it's going to take some time to get us there.

    Advice to Management

Get out of your own way and empower your people.

I worked at Girl Scouts USA full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

    The girls...seriously the only pro

    Cons

    Self serving board and staff.
    Horrible CEO in Fran Marshal
Board does not hold CEO accountable
    Board rubberstamps whatever CEO wants
Inappropriate firing. (Staff finds out they are fired and been replaced via press release
    Progressive discipline policy not used
HR reports to CEO so open door policy is useless

    Advice to Management

GSUSA needs to step in and overhaul the board and oust the CEO. Clean up needs to be done
