Pros

Knowledgeable co-workers, professional attitudes, wide variety of training provided, and earnest effort to provide tools needed to carry out work.

Cons

Two tier staff system with excellent benefits for GSK staff but no benefits, no security, no advancement for contract staff - very clear 2nd class status for contractors particularly total lack of parking. Lower level managers often poorly trained.

Advice to Management

Contractor staff make up an increasing percentage of staff so consider giving them some of the more no/low cost extras that all staff normally get. ie use of gyms, parking.

    Pros

Doing an internship at Glaxo Smith Kline was one o fhte best experinces I've had as an intern. I was working at the HR department and everyone was willing to teach and guide me through a career in the human requirement sector.

    Cons

There were four people working at the department for many years so I could not see a potential to move up on the ladder.

    Advice to Management

I believe that there should be more mobility within the departments and other offices. It seemed that one can not change his position for a very long time.
