Pros

Good benefits - 401k with matching up to 5%, immediate vesting; PC purchase assistance program; tuition reimbursement
Good work/life balance (depending on your leadership)
Fun people and laid back environment - until something blows up
When your job is offshored, you're given 6 months notice and severance package w/ job finding services
Free Douwe Egberts coffee and tea
Onsite gym and cafe

Cons

No investment in technology. Most PCs are 5+ years old. They still run XP and Office 2003. The only reliable systems are the ones from the "green-screen" era and any web based tool crashes at least a couple times a week. Internal knowledge is not there to build or improve systems but will not spend money to fix it. Every project is done cheap instead of right.
Lack of communication between various departments so everyone is always reacting to things other departments do.
Focus on costs without looking at any long term impacts. The last few years have been cuts, offshoring and more cuts decisions made at executive level while front line has been left to "figure out" how to do more with less.
Everything is reactive instead of proactive. Leadership is afraid to be the first to market or try something different than the industry

Advice to Management

C-level management that started with the company in 2001 has all turned over except for the CEO. The original group lived and managed by the company values; their replacements have nothing vested in these values and run their groups accordingly. The focus is entirely on the value of the stock instead of "go[ing] above and beyond for our customers and out people." It is almost impossible to "reward accomplishments and innovation" because it requires money to reward or innovate but the leadership won't spend it. Morale is terrible overall, especially from those who have seen the better days.

Advice - invest (i.e SPEND MONEY and/or hire the right people) in infrastructure to help your employees do their jobs; focus on doing it right instead of cheap; act consistently with your company values

I worked at Global Payments full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Located in a nice building, free sodas

    Cons

Full of people that just don't care. A lot of infighting. Very unorganized, unwilling to accept change, lack of confidentiality in HR, unwillingness to work between teams, management favortism, nepotism, friendship network, lack of processes, reactive not proactive, employees not heard, old regime that is complacent and not willing to stay up with technology, training, or ideas. Stop managing projects on post it notes

    Advice to Management

Stop holding onto divisive, unproductive employees, and get rid of old school managers that cannot adapt to change. This company could be fantastic if you stop tolerating bad behavior of employees that hold all of the keys and therefore hold you hostage. Start from the top and keep removing until you get to the bottom and then rebuild.
