I have been working at Gold's Gym part-time (Less than a year)

Pros

Great way to network and meet interesting people. Hours can be good and room for advandcement. My GM who just became Regional manager is GREAT. Cares about staff and well being.

Cons

Company expects high quality employees yet pay them like the average joe. A lot of customers in this workplace with egos out of this world (although, some are above spactacular!)
They have me a few hours under full time, I think its because of insurance and all that jazz.

Advice to Management

If you want great workers then show us how much we are to you buy paying above min wage. Im just a Front Desk person and get paid min wage.. The OM here works 75 hrs a week sometimes and is compensated for a weak salary while doing everyones job at times.

I worked at Gold's Gym part-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Flexible schedule. Was able to balance school, work & a personal life. Started as a front desk employee, ended as top salesman/assistant operations manager.

    Cons

Lack of consistency as far as staff goes. I worked there for almost four years and the turnover was ridiculous. Seems like there was new management every 15-18 months. Staff turnover was even quicker.

  2. "High stress and horrible compensation"

I worked at Gold's Gym full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Free gym membership. Some good co-workers.

    Cons

All about sales and not about actually helping people. Constant changing of comp. plan. Outdated tools, equipment, and mindsets of management. High turnover, and limited training programs. No upward or promotion opportunities from within the company.

    Advice to Management

Get with the times and reinvest in your company.
