Pros

The people are great to work with except for management.

Cons

The "Good ol' boys" reign. They do not have any women in a management position. ALL strong women that stand up the senior management are fired. The board of directors takes no initiaves to find out the real truth of what is really going on in the hospital. It's a sad state of affairs. They've had such a great staff what really wanted to do a good job but are not allowed to because of senior management.

Advice to Management

Step down! Elect a board of directors that are not old cronies of the senior management. When an employee survey is done, don't ignore it. The board of directors -- where are you and why aren't you listening to the staff when they say there is a problem? Stand up to the CEO, HR director and Nursing Director and get rid of them -- at least find out what is really going on in the hospital.

I worked at Golden Valley Memorial Hospital full-time

    Pros

Very few pros to this job unless you appreciate being taken for granted, given no time off when requested and having management that only cares about protecting their "pets"" and not taking care of the personnel that produce the most work.

    Cons

Allows the harassment of personnel and cannot hire anyone with any experience. Those who have experience are quickly gone or go elsewhere. Upper management lies about what they will do and no matter how much money EMS makes on transfer it is always taken away and cut back to the line crews. It was certainly much more important for them to build a bistro in the new section then build new quarters for their EMS personnel. I would advise all experienced EMS personnel to stay away from this facility as employment as they will not honor their word on anyhting

    Advice to Management

Clean house on all upper management and put in people that are willing to understand all aspects of the operation.
