I worked at Goldman Sachs as an intern (Less than a year)

Pros

Interesting exposure to the business - helped me realize I wanted to be IN the business. So I guess internship was successful in teaching me. All in all great people and a strong culture - even in the back office. It's GS and people take that name seriously.

Cons

No opportunity to move within the organization even after receiving a returning offer. No point in getting stuck in Ops at the tender age of 18. I went to another bank in IBD. Sorry GS. Very rigid recruiting and inability to give people a chance to grow.

Advice to Management

Be more flexible when it comes to allowing young interns to move around within the firm. The point of an internship is to learn, grow, and discover where you want to start your career.

I worked at Goldman Sachs as an intern (Less than a year)

    Pros

Absolutely loved the friendly atmosphere. Interns had an opportunity to set up a one-on-one meeting/phone call with anybody from the company to get some tips on professional development. Interns had many opportunities to network.

    Cons

GS has high expectations for their employees: the further you move up the career ladder, the more GS becomes a priority in your life
