I have been working at Golin full-time (More than a year)

Pros

The people are great and it's a great place to learn a lot about PR if you're okay with learning everything by watching senior level people.

Cons

These is very little training and there is no organizational culture; there's a very big turnover rate. you won't see the same person in the office after two years.

Advice to Management

Instead of trying to build a new PR model where they try to build people's expertise. They should focus on keeping their employees happy.

    I worked at Golin full-time

    Pros

    - If you're good, exposure with top clients
    - Reputable agency (long term clients like McDonalds)
    - Free coffee

    Cons

    - PR salaries typically are not much. This place is no exception. You might want to research the cost of living before accepting an offer
    - In smaller offices as a starting employee your exposure/experience can be limiting (i.e. two years of cold calls and copy/paste experience).
    - *&%! rolls downhill. When management fails clients, in the past they have blamed the lower level staff (when they should have oversight of work).
    - Lack of culture
    - Limited upward mobility (many ranks compared to other agencies)

    Advice to Management

Do reviews every six months asking employees to provide anonymous feedback from managers. Managers, treat the younger employees with respect. They are working next to nothing and are motivated to be successful, don't take advantage of them in the process and constantly blame them for client dissatisfaction.
