Approves of CEO

I have been working at Goodyear full-time (More than 5 years)

Pros

The company provides good benefits. The competition is not very cut throat. If you want a stable job and don't care for moving up the ranks, this company is for you. Good suburbs not very far from HQ for raising family (cost of living wise).

Cons

The company is old. It is boring and bureaucratic. Old ways. Senior leadership is old and risk averse. If you are moving from out of town, do you research on the location. While the cost of living is not high, North east Ohio is not for young people looking for diversity.

Advice to Management

Take risks.

I have been working at Goodyear full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Pay was fair, I had a lot of hands on exposure to the equipment.

    Cons

I was required to work late and weekends typically without any notice. At no point was there any discussion about opportunities for advancement. Feedback on job performance was minimal. Overall my experience was very disappointing.

    Advice to Management

Expose your employees to the opportunities within Goodyear and how to obtain them. Give regular job feedback and responsibilities of the job (my responsibilities seemed to change every month).

I worked at Goodyear full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

At one time a large company that promoted from within based on performance. Still a large company with many of the benefits and opportunities that come from being a large employer.

    Cons

No longer interested in retaining long time employees. No longer is interested in being the best or largest at what it does.

    Advice to Management

Get back to a five year plan and stop giving up a plan in favor of next quarters earnings.
