I worked at Grady Health System full-time (More than a year)

Pros

Training, autonomy, a lott of hands on experience, personal growth, serving an under resourced population, team work.

Cons

Lack of professionalism among some of the staff and management team and "cliquish" culture.

Advice to Management

Work on standardizing policies, rules, and procedures throughout the departments. Try to treat staff more like Nursing Professionals. Grady has a culture of treating employees like children. Remember that your RN staff are licensed professionals and not High School students, therefore the Staff Nurses and Management can collaborate. Having a collaborative approach as opposed to an authoritative approach, will help with morale, efficiency, and the introduction of new ideas

I worked at Grady Health System full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Director of Imaging and Management Staff are not worth the money paid. Very unfair to certain workers who work harder than others.

    Cons

Unregistered Technologist as Lead Techs and a teaching facility. How can you be a Clinical Instructor but you can not pass the registry. These Techs are also higher paid Techs.

    Advice to Management

Look at your department and see why there is so much employee turnover. Learn to listen to your Employees more because without hands on you don't know it all.
