I have been working at Gresham Smith and Partners full-time (More than 5 years)

Pros

Management is looking for new young talent.

Cons

Management and veterans won't budge and give up their positions. Get your 2-5 years in and get out. Promotions don't come often.

Advice to Management

Diversify your offerings. Close the gap between new graduates and old veterans.

I have been working at Gresham Smith and Partners full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Great balance between work and life
    Decent compensation
Opportunities are given to those who voice their desires.
Many intelligent, talented and motivated management/ partners willing to guide and teach.
Motivated management gets younger staff involved at all stages of the architectural process.
Moving towards an integrated design and analysis approach to the architectural process.

    Cons

Decent design, but the project base lacks the excitement sought by the higher end employee.
Too many stagnant employees not really wanting to take the firm to the next level.
Not a lot of design culture or discussion between projects.
Office space design lacks stimulation for collaborative design
Some talented professionals are in the wrong positions and not given the opportunity to guide/ teach the younger generation of GS&P leaders.

    Advice to Management

Listen and engage the younger generation, it might just help retention and motivation within the office.

I have been working at Gresham Smith and Partners full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

This is the best company I have ever worked for! Unlike some of the other negative reviews that appear to come from either disgruntled low performing ex-employees or inexperienced young kids that have not really worked in many other places before, I have worked for many years at many different firms. This is by far the firm with the most opportunities, the BEST culture, and the best work environment!!!

    Cons

I really do not see any "cons" to work at this firm. I feel very lucky that I am part of this organization!

    Advice to Management

I appreciate all of the opportunities that I have been given to succeed in this firm over my past several years here. Keep up the good work!
