Pros

There truly are some fantastic employees at this company, people who believe in the work they are doing and deserve a better leadership than what they have. There are a great number of employees who are dedicated to the challenging population they serve and they work diligently every day to try and provide the best possible services to the youth in all their programs.

Cons

The most significant con is the board of directors, they are so disconnected and out of touch with the actual services being provided that they make countless poor decisions. Additionally they have had two very different CEO's over the last 5 years with no change or improvements made overall. The board continues to rely on only one source of information, the CEO to make their decisions. Additionally this company is entirely too small to have such a large and disconnected board. The next con is the CEO, she does not have any higher degrees or any licenses that would be expected for a CEO who is running a CLINICAL TREAMENT program. The board picked her because she was good and throwing their fundraisers. The CEO is one of the most disconnected CEO's I have had the misfortune of working with. She has no idea what is actually happening in her programs, she is selective about who she listens to and depending on her mood that day may or may not retaliate. As I stated above, I worked under both of the last CEO's each having drastically different leadership styles, both were equally ineffective in different ways which is why I go back to what hasn't changed, the board. They have no pay scale for supervisors or managers, it is simply based upon how much the COO likes you and how much you suck up. They have significantly inconsistent pay structures for the clinical staff as well. There are no licensed clinical staff currently for a treatment facility only therapists working toward licensure. Which is fine if they had a licensed clinician supervising them, but the COO laid off the Clinical director a year ago and hasn't replaced him. Their solution was to have a contractor "supervise" which only barely meets the DORA requirements for supervision hours. The leadership has actually already heard this feedback and hid it from the board and ignored it entirely.
