Pros

Very generous compensation for my field. CE's and licensing dues paid for. Collaborative work environment.

Some business decisions not in best interest of patient care or lean practices.

Advice to Management

Consider how decisions on insurance side affect provider's ability to provide good patient care.

I worked at Group Health full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Excellent benefits and good people to work with. A place you want to come to work because you believe in the mission of transforming health care for the better.

    Cons

The organization is in serious financial trouble and has a very unclear future. Recent layoffs were poorly managed and "survivors" are demoralized. Executive leadership completely dysfunctional. Not enough women in the senior leadership ranks.
No internal career advancement opportunities - a good place to go when you're already at your desired position and want to coast until retirement.

I worked at Group Health full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Quiet and not much to do, can be boring at times.

    Cons

Company is rapidly deteriorating. Thus unemployed are targeted as new hires as lineups to fill vacancies. New employees are expected to pick up all work and are not eligible for any time off. Questionable practices all in the name of saving money rather than the best interest of your health. Quality of care is determiend by cost rather than need. The company has taken a turn in just a short amount of time. Facilities are too small and outdated to properly treat inpatient and specific outpatient cases. I choose to be under my spouse's coverage rather than enrolling though a plan.

    Advice to Management

Cut all costs now and reveal true layout.
