Pros

Position is flexible with the employment season running October through to April. The positions allows for business to business relationship building, grassroot marketing, and event management. Marketing coordinator positions allows for employee to make person suggestions for marketing initiatives. Position covers an average of 20 offices per district with each field marketing coordinator covering 2 or 3 districts. Districts can stretch across statelines.

Cons

Too many managers for one position. One manager manages marketing coordinator's time, another manages it's budget and a third manages it's participation is corporate sponsored marketing initiatives. Does not lend opportunities for growth within the company. The company hires outside of the firm before hiring inside. There isn't a training program for upper management positions. Pay is not competitive to other companies for the same position. Budgets for the marketing position is extremely tight which caused employment to be cancelled for employees before the tax season ends, and written discipline notices for those that work over time. Company doesn't provide an accessible budget so expect to spend your own money to pay for marketing supplies and event charges. Money is reimbursed, but can take up to 3 weeks.

Advice to Management

To decrease the employee turnover for the marketing position, consider full time employment for non-tax professional related positions. Consider the caliber of marketing professionals that are hired and trust in the employees to make sound decisions with the cost of executing marking projects.

    Pros

There are some people who try to do a good job

    Cons

New tax pros are asked to take an extensive course before they apply for a job. They won't tell you until the end that you will be earning minimum wage or close to it! And you will not earn the bonuses they are talking about until you have worked for many tax seasons.

    Advice to Management

Be upfront with applicants about what they will be paid and tell them that they will not be offered full time employment!
