I have been working at HCR ManorCare full-time (More than a year)

Pros

Decent pay, level 3 employees get great benefits and vacation time. The internal staff can be positive and pleasant.

Cons

Unrealistic expectations of Admissions Director's. Expected to work massively long hours. Held accountable when not given training. Every person in the building is so over worked that no one has a good attitude.

Advice to Management

Get a better handle on what is going on in the local facilities.

I worked at HCR ManorCare full-time

    Pros

These facilities usually have great equipment and can order things that you would need. I love the PENs, for example. They help suport the use of standardized tests by having them available to use. They are generally clean facilities and the staff revolve around therapy. Nursing with bring patients to you to which helps with your productivity.

    Cons

Productivity is king. 85%. You may have a schedule, but if there are med As that need to be seen yet you must stay and complete them. If you have children to pick up at a certain time this may be a problem. They rotate holidays, so you would have to work some of them. And the holdidays you do take off will be replaced by a weekend workday.

    Advice to Management

Utilize your PRN. I know they cost more, but if you give your employees time with their familys to recharge from work you will see better work when they come back.

Too many to name, nursing staff is horrible. Listen to patients needs. Facility treats new staff like they have the plague.

    Advice to Management

Communicate with staff, treat new staff better.
