Pros

Interesting projects, opportunities for collaboration with groups and teams internationally. You may be entrusted with responsibilities and allowed to fail.

Cons

With the current economic environment, positions at most firms are not as stable as they were before 2008 and HSBC is no different.

Advice to Management

There is a 3 month period in which consultants who have worked a year at HSBC must wait until they are allowed to work there again. This should be relaxed. It takes time for people to adjust to new environments and HSBC could benefit from rehiring consultants back to HSBC.

    Cons

no respect, no acknowledgement for hard work, they focus on a mistake instead of the positive end results, they take credit for all the work you performed

    Advice to Management

Be professional, you're not there to make friends, acknowledge when an employee makes your team look good and goes above and beyond

    Disapproves of CEO

    Pros

    Good amount of time off
Benefits avaiale for part time workers
    Closed major holidays
    Generous Tuition policy

    Cons

Each branch is different. Some do not have a lot of work/life balance and some do. New hires sometimes make more money than those who have been around awhile. Employees are told no raise but some secretly get them-most do not. Everyone in the branch who is not on the teller line thinks they are in charge of the tellers which makes for a divided workplace. Sales are VERY important. Without them no raises and no advancment.

    Advice to Management

Ask for suggestions from the people who talk to the customers everyday. We shouldn't be treated like we are on the bottom of the totem pole. After all you need us and we are what keep the customers coming back.
