I worked at HSBC Holdings full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Work Life Balance (two weeks mandatory paid leave - thanks to the mandatory requirements of the international head office!)

Pay - If you know how to negotiate well!

    Cons

Lack of basic courtesy in addressing juniors in office by the ExCo (executive committee)

Management suffers from a Colonial hangover

    Bureaucratic processes

Lack of transparency in appraisal process. The process is very easily subverted by line managers and functional managers

    Advice to Management

Change the management and actually attempt to implement some of the policies you keep harping about in conferences.
