I have been working at HSBC Holdings full-time (More than 10 years)

Pros

working from home, some ability to learn stable technologies but not enough emphasis on learning or networking with industry partners.

Cons

unsure of commitment to US and Midwest region, poor performance management, managers do not have time to manager their direct reports, low tolerance for risk or failure, tends to lag market in adopting technology.

Advice to Management

Take some risks and really allow employees to control their destinies

I worked at HSBC Holdings full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Terrific global presence, especially in Europe. The international opportunities are plentiful and their support of international management and training programs is very strong. Solid and competitive pay. Excellent Work life balance.

    Cons

HSBC's recent decision to reduce their North American footprint and consolidate global business models has significantly reduced its domestic opportunities. Perhaps in a few more years, once their domestic strategy has taken shape, the US will again be a vibrent outlook for HSBC employees.
