I have been working at HSBC Holdings full-time (More than 5 years)

Pros

nice people and if you get a good manager is not a bad place to work

Cons

almost like a jail atmosphere, excessive regulation on even the smallest things

I have been working at HSBC Holdings full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

The company has a lot of good/kind veterans working for the bank. It's a good retirement company.

    Cons

The U.S division is quite disorganized as the entity has one more than group vs HSBC Hongkong and HSBC PLC. HSBC in NY has HSBC Securities and HSBC bank USA.

    Advice to Management

Bridge the gap and replicate the model in HSBC HK.

    Positive Outlook

I have been working at HSBC Holdings full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

One will get a chance to understand a complete sector (if he's into Global Research/Equity Research)

    Cons

No option whatsoever for offshore employees to move to front-end positions. A >5-year experienced guy would be doing the same job as a fresher, except that the experienced one will be managing a few under him/her.

    Advice to Management

I suggest you stop mis-representing the facts to the prospect employees about sending employees to front-end positions, variable pay etc. A big thanks to you if you can do that.
