Pros

9-5 job if your lucky to get extra hours. The majority of the Team leaders, Area managers, head office staff and comfort specialists are nice people. The training in Yorkshire is very good.

Cons

The upper management need to learn how to treat their staff better. You are paid minimum wage with no commission and to earn that, you must sell overpriced chairs for thousands of pounds to the elderly or people with medical needs, hit high percentages on accessories and furniture protection sold, take a chair to customers houses for home visits, chase outstanding balance payments by phoning customers up, have your unpaid lunch breaks interrupted if customers walk in, be a computer whizz and much much more. If your lucky, you might hit your ridiculously high monthly target and get a postcard sent to you that's been quickly scribbled by someone in upper management, get an extra 50 pence an hour in your wages or even a insulting £5 tesco voucher to be shared between a team of 4-5 people. On top of all of that, expect the upper management to be really nice to you on their store visits and not give any feedback to your face, but as soon as they leave, they will give a bad report to your area manager for something as little as offering a cup of tea too early. You will be expected to sometimes cover other stores that are usually 1-2 hours away and not get any additional pay or incentive for doing so. The computer systems are also 15 years out of date and crash on a weekly basis, but if you miraculously manage to find them working, the printer will take up to an hour to print in busy periods. Personally I wouldn't recommend working for this company unless you are employed on a full time basis as all of the above is expected of you, even if you are only working 1-2 days a week but even if you are full time, dont be surprised if you become part time in the future as your contract will state that they can reduce your hours when they see fit to do so.

Pros

Loved my residents, they made the terrible nightmare of being an Hsl employee worth it.

Cons

Downsides are that you are asked to violate fair housing when you know that you’re right and you’ve spoken to an attorney about it, but you were asked to violate for housing just to make the regionals look good and when you did and invoice your opinion, you get terminated
