    Pros

Habitat is a great place to work for those who are committed to the cause of eliminating poverty housing. Longevity is the norm for those who are willing to suffer through the "Habitat way".

    Cons

Expect to be minimally compensated on the salary side (offset by benefits) and to be challenged by ridiculous fiefdom protectionism. And just because the cause of poverty housing is the lead here, don't be surprised that it often is overshadowed in the work environment by gender/sexual preference related cause activism.

    Advice to Management

Habitat is a great cause, and accomplishes much - but in many areas woefully underperforms its potential. Time for some tough love both internally and with affiliates. Leadership needs to be stronger - and some of the dysfunctional family members need to be retired or shipped off. Arrange those points of light together and create a powerful beam!
