I have been working at Habitat for Humanity as a contractor (More than a year)

Pros

If you are self-directing, many opportunities to grow personally and professionally by developing new skills.

Cons

little training, poor communication between upper management and workers, little mentoring.

Advice to Management

Try to create an inclusive environment for all, not just staff members. Invest more time and resources in training AmeriCorps VISTA members so we can better accomplish our objectives.

I have been working at Habitat for Humanity part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

I think the best reason to work there is the feeling of accomplishment that you receive as you build homes to help people in need. Definitely would do again if I had the chance.

    Cons

I can't say there was anything really bad about it. Sometimes things were a little dis organized, but overall it was a great experience working and volunteering there.

    No opinion of CEO

I worked at Habitat for Humanity as an intern (Less than a year)

    Pros

The best thing is the vast amount of information that can be learned from the very knowledgeable crew.

    Cons

The biggest con is that it isn't a paid internship, I was working at habitat for humanity and my paying job and it was very draining.

    Advice to Management

My advice would be that when they take an intern to have a spot for that person to work if they actually do a good job.
