Habitat Portland is a supremely community oriented organization. I genuinely admire everyone I work with and love the collaborative efforts to tackle any challenge in our path, as a company. It does not matter where you rank in the org, you have a voice. The work of every volunteer and every staff member goes a long way, and Habitat Portland makes a concerted effort to acknowledge and encourage this.
Cons
Habitat Portland is a growing affiliate that is working out many internal kinks as it pertains to creating clear systems for interpersonal conflict, and basic business practices. Also, being a non-profit, offering a competitive wage and benefits continues to be their biggest hurdle in attracting and holding onto worthwhile candidates.
