Pros

Great people whom are friendly both inside and outside the office. Management acknowledges the hard work of others. Company works hard to ensure employees are satisfied.

Cons

In office positions there were individuals whom were not knowledgeable about the horse industry and horses in general, making it difficult to effectively communicate with them.

Advice to Management

Find ways to ensure promotions or bonuses to those that truly work hard for the company. Ensure that office personal actually work when they are being paid to work, not socialize excessively throughout the day.

I worked at Hagyard-Davidson-McGee Associates full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Hagyard knows how to party. They throw an annual shindig that really boosts morale and tickets to local events at the horse park are nice.

    Cons

If you are a man, you are incompetent. It never matters how well or how hard you work, you will never be rewarded because you are a male technician. When learning a new skill, you will have to wait until all the women who work with you are signed off on it before you. If you make the same mistakes as a female tech, it will be much worse in consequences. Even some of the clinicians make it clear that they prefer a female tech to care for their cases. Unless you are a veterinarian or a Hispanic stall cleaner, there is no place for men at this institution.

    Advice to Management

Recognize hard work and reward it so regardless to gender. If an employee wishes to remain anonymous while making a complaint about unfair treatment, don't give the guilty party all the personal details of the victim employee; it makes him or her feel alienated. Perform a driving test to those who want to drive the ambulance before you hand the keys over and send them downtown.
