Pros

Good money, nice facilities, good benefits

Cons

The people, the culture, the history.

Advice to Management

Offer praise where praise is due. Don't try to intimidate people into performing. Create a team atmosphere. It's a novel idea, I know.

    Pros

They give you a lot of responsibility.
If you have a good boss, he will give you goals and objectives and allow you to use your own initiative to acheive them.
They have some of the best people in the world.

    Cons

They provide "social promotions" to some executives to give them experience in areas that they know nothing about. If your manager changes he is probably going to bring in people who support him unconditionally and change out the existing people who might challenge him.

    Advice to Management

Understand what the people under you really do. Don't assume what qualifications are really required to do a job well until you understand what that job requires. Don't promote people into positions who don't have the right background or leadership qualities needed for that group to excel.
