I worked at Halliburton as an intern (Less than a year)

Pros

There are many different fields of work that you can choose from. It has unlimited opportunities and work all over the world.

Cons

Some cons would be that sometimes workers have to move based upon where the work is available and you may be working long hours.

    I have been working at Halliburton full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    Great Health & Dental Benefits, 401k & Stock Options.
    Opportunity for operators to move to an engineer position eventually.
    Great training.
    Great team work.

    Cons

    Lowest operator pay in the industry.
    Only way to make decent money is to work long, crazy hours.
    Little sleep

    Advice to Management

    Up the pay rather then having a huge turnaround & paying more in training new employees.

    Pros

    Great on the job training
    Competitive Salary for an Engineer (compared to other industries)
    Job Stability
    You get to wear fire retardant coveralls and a hard hat.

    Cons

    Work until you can not work anymore (14 hour days are normal)
    Pay is not competitive when compared to other operators and most service companies in the industry.
