Pros

People are nice
Creativity is appreciated
Kansas City is an inexpensive yet nice place to live

Cons

Leadership can't make decisions (and if they do, they often change their minds)
The greeting card business is fading

Advice to Management

Enforce the Decision-Making Model more often and stick with the decision. Too often management retracts decisions after action has already been taken.

I worked at Hallmark part-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

    Flexible hours and flexible days

    Cons

RM's treated with disrespect, RM's have no say to store management, not given equal rights, TM's do not defend rights of RM's, Store Managers look down on RM's

    Advice to Management

Hire TMs and TAs or someone who has actually physically worked product, especially seasonal and see what it's like for RMs and what RMs have to put up with from Store Managers.

    Doesn't Recommend
    Disapproves of CEO

    Pros

Above-avg benefits, friendly co-workers (to your face), known entity so it looks good on your resume

    Cons

Head-in-the-sand management and cutthroat cultures that focuses on placing blame for issues, not resolution.

    Advice to Management

Get out while you can as it is a sinking ship: flat revenues for 20 years and drastically sinking profits. Once Crayola is sold, look out!
