It started out as a really chill job, work day consisted of answering phone calls and making appointments, in our down time we did the laundry for the service providers. We got a small discount and free services once a month if a spot was available.
Cons
If the management isn't good, you can easily get taken advantage of by the owners of the business or the service providers, and corporate won't do much to intervene. I've both experienced and witnessed multiple forms of discrimination. I was also physically harassed by one of the service providers and made a complaint to management and the provider is still working there to this day, and I know for a fact he's harassed other young spa associates. I've also seen the management withhold paychecks for no reason and steal sales from spa associates. So if management is poor, it can be an extremely toxic work environment and at the end of the day it started to follow me home which is where I had to end it. It wasn't worth the money or the toll on my mental health.
