I worked at Hanesbrands full-time (More than 8 years)

Pros

Affords one the opportunity to experience work in a large corporate environment where there is the potential for movement in multiple directions; good for learning what working cross-functionally means and with the right management above you, HOW to do it; good medical benefits and compensation packages.

Cons

Senior management tends to manage their careers rather than manage the business propoerly, and in doing so cater to the sometimes nonsensical ideas of the CEO -- short term financial gains that wreak havoc on the brands, the retail customers, and employees -- rather than do what's right for growing the business while retaining brand integrity; still too much of a good-old-boys network for such a "global" and diversity-embracing company.

    Approves of CEO

I have been working at Hanesbrands full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Generally a pleasant place to work - good people, good work environment, and good benefits package.

    Cons

Too much emphasis at highest levels on shipping jobs overseas and continual reductions in local mostly administrative and professional workforce to beef up the bottom line

    Advice to Management

Do the right thing for the company (the WHOLE company). Re-institute domestic manufacturing on a big scale and stop laying off people to satisfy the investors.
