    Pros

Hargrove can be a laid-back place to work, but it does have its times, especially when a lot of shows are going on at once. A sense of family is placed on the employees and many employees in fact are the very best of friends. The company is not huge and everyone knows everyone else for the most part. There are planned activities often enough that try to get the employees closer together, and the company has recently started a "go green" initiative as well as community service events to help out.

    Cons

Moving up is not easy, and is primarily done by networking, not skills. You have to be very close to your "superiors" to have them put in a good word for you. Management is shady often enough. A few employees over the years were fired in weird ways, such as notifying a critical employee just after leaving work not to come in the next day. Another employee was forcibly logged out of his computer and later told to leave. In this and other situations, emails were later send out describing completely different events. You have to remain on everyone's good side to be secure here. Benefits are also not that great.

    Advice to Management

Be transparent! Care more about your employees, and get some modern water fountains.

I have been working at Hargrove full-time

    Pros

There are a lot of great people working at Hargrove and you'll make a lot of good friendships so long as you have a team mentality and accept that the lines of personal and professional life will always be blurred. Good opportunities to work on a lot of cool projects and travel. There's not a lot of structure within departments so you can make your own path/salary to some degree. Also have had a great experience with flexibility on PTO/working remotely so long as you actually have time to take it.

    Cons

You will have no work life balance working here, and you likely won't make enough to make it worth it. Given the industry you will not only work long hours and weekends but will likely be on the road half of the year. The employees in back of house and actually handling the production of the show do not get the acknowledgement or recognition they deserve, as that's reserved for the sales people and higher ups.

    Advice to Management

More employees are needed across the board, and quality ones. Everyone needs to be held to the same standard rather than making exceptions for people with connections or that are just accepted as "not that good". By overloading the top performing employees it drives them to leave, then only the lesser ones are left. The plan of being staffed for our normal times and drowning in our busy times does not work.
