    Positive Outlook

I worked at Harvard Medical School full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

The intellectual environment was very stimulating and rich. My direct boss was a rare combination of a good scientist and excellent communicator. The research carried on at the lab was of high quality and the interaction with other labs in the Boston-Cambridge area allowed for considerable persona and intellectual growth.

    Cons

Boston and Cambridge are quite expensive, so the quality of life wasn't too high. Within the organization, relations between the university and the hospitals or organizations actually paying our salary was sometimes complicated and there was a lot of bureaucracy involved.
