Nepotism and Ignorance

We have a terrible coffee machine. And we intentionally slow our work-pace because we'd run out of things to do if we ran full speed.
Cons
Severe favoritism, near-total lack of discipline, phobia of rational thought, borderline-provable racism.

Pros
Working with well-known brands in the cannabis/hydroponics industry helped bolster my professional network and knowledge in the space. Generous compensation and benefits packages. Flexibility with the work schedule and autonomous work ethic is encouraged.
Cons
Hawthorne used to be a fast-paced, innovative, and fun place to work. However, because they put all of their eggs in the cannabis industry basket, that all took a turn for the worst when weed prices started to plummet in 2021. As a result, they made extremely reactive decisions which transformed it into a volatile and depressing work environment. The 7 month cycle of continuous layoffs kept your job security in constant question. The buying and selling off of legacy brands/products with gratuitous reasoning ruined their reputation with many industry veterans. The perpetual price increases and supply chain reductions lost many of their long-time retail accounts. The “President” of Hawthorne (aka, the son of the Chairman/CEO of Scotts MiracleGro) is an absent leader and has minimal merit in this industry (regardless of what National Geographic tells you). He relied on people/talent from the acquired legacy brands/companies to try and substantiate his position in the market place (most of whom he has fired by now). As a sales professional, I could only put lipstick on this pig for so long before my reputation was negatively impacted by working here.
