I have been working at Hays full-time (More than a year)

Pros

Supportive environment to both work and learn, chances to move around globally, progression if you put yourself out there

Cons

Salary is low, secrets sometimes kept from employees (but this will be for all large corps)

Advice to Management

Improve communication (not from management but the culture in the workplace)

I have been working at Hays full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Meritocracy, financial reward, influence careers, first class training, culture, fun, outstanding people, flexibility when needed, global opportunities, loyalty, no shortage of social opportunities and exposure to blue chip clients.

    Cons

There can be long hours - this is/was never hidden from me, take it or leave it - the Aus/NZ MD always spoke openly about this. It is why we make money, but not for everyone.
hard work is rewarded, like other 'firms' this is/always will be the case.
Conservative strategies / management at times - embrace some flexibility.

    Advice to Management

    Keep listening.

I worked at Hays full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Strong brand recognition, internationally recognized name. They have a good training program for new recruiters. You can be very successful and make a lot of money.

    Cons

    - Micromanagement to the extreme
    - Prepare yourself for a high stress environment
    - Almost unachievable goals unless you are willing to work a 60+ hour week and only get a nominal salary for 40 hours
    - If you want to be in the top percentage and make a lot of money, give up your personal/family life and devote all your time to your job.
