I have been working at Health Advocate full-time (More than a year)

Pros

Easy to get hired. Free coffee. Low-cost vending machines.

Cons

Pretty much everything else. Aside from fake/owner-planted? 5-star review, most others are dead-on: With few exceptions, leadership rules by micromanagement, bullying and arrogance. As one poster accurately noted, management approval is mandated for nearly every task except bathroom breaks. Pay is so-so, benefits are sub-par. Uncomfortable workplace, physically and spiritually.

Advice to Management

Why bother? They don't listen.

    I have been working at Health Advocate part-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

    Does wonderful things for it's members, solving many difficult issues for people needing help with their healthcare. Employees who care deeply about their work and about each other and work together to help members.

    Cons

    Poor inter and intra-departmental communications, lack of opportunity for job advancement and training, lack of transparency in many areas relating to employee/management relations, and staffing issues. Lack of management receptiveness/ interest in employee feedback. Need for improved commitment wellness in a health-oriented company with regards to ergonomics, exercise, etc.

    Advice to Management

    More open and receptive communications stance with regard to improvement of processes that could improve member experience and employee productivity. Improved opportunities for advancement and training,and improved planning and communication throughout organization would go along way. Would look for creative and innovative ways to incorporate wellness into workplace environment, engaging entire workplace community.

    Pros

    Dress down every Friday, and various little things the company does to appreciate the employees.

    Cons

    Upper level management is not receptive to ideas from employees. Worked for a department where there was obvious favoritism with the managers and certain employees. Received no formal training class. Had OTJ training and was thrown into my position. They give you no time to settle into the job. Demand daily quotas are met for call volume, and if not met result in poor QA scores when attempting to keep up.

    Advice to Management

    If you are interested in employee retention, work with employees when they approach you if there are problems. Stop treating all departments differently. Obvious favoritism with the higher payed employees.
