I have been working at HealthEdge Software full-time (More than a year)

Pros

unix based technology, growing market based technology, rely on many open source technology

Cons

Expected to work more hrs, if you are taking a sick time, the manager's ask employ to compensate the hrs...
some managers look on your shoulder on your work...

Advice to Management

better watch those managers, try not to suck employee's blood

    Pros

    --great flexibility for the remote woker
    --relatively high compensation to get you on board
    --everyone gets equity
    --fantastic product line

    Cons

    --expectations are for perfection and if that is not delivered you are old news
    --inqeuity on starting compensation
    --leadership is simply over their head
    --if you do not write code, the CEO has no use for you
    --once you arrive you are on yoru own

    Advice to Management

    --take stock and who is helping the company grow and reward them
    --be honest with your direct reports

    I have been working at HealthEdge Software full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

    Good salary and health insurance.

    Cons

    1) No direction or vision from senior management, 2) cheap with support items such as: not issuing a corporate card or broadband internet for traveling consultants, 3) no 401k match, 4) inaccurate statements about culture, bonuses, work/life balance during the interview process, 5) work people to death.

    Advice to Management

    It does not matter whether you are a start up company or not. You can't continue to use that as an excuse for lack of direction, vision, etc
