Advice to Management

Don't forget about the small areas and sub-divisions, they are the grease that keeps all the bigger parts moving.

I worked at HealthSmart full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Staff, employees, and the location was hard to beat as I lived within 15 minutes of the location.

    Cons

The salary and workload left a lot to be desired. We seemed to be putting out more fires instead of proactively trying to find solutions.

I worked at HealthSmart full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

    Free parking, good PTO, location

    Cons

Few benefits, no 401K matching for several years. It will take a long time to rebound from financial mismanagement. A lot of turnover, including managers in a short time period. A lot of employees have great ideas, but upper management doesn't seem to want to try new ideas.

    Advice to Management

Treat people as professionals. Micromanagement is costly. Spend money on training programs for your employees, including yourselves. You lost some really good employees and did not tap into all of their talents. Listen to constructive feed back, be objective and hear all points of view before making rash decisions.
