I have been working at Healthfirst (New York) full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

Most of the employees are very hard working and are the reason why many come to work everyday. Good 401k matching, PTO and a small bonus for all of the employees, telecommuting opportunities. If they could have competent management it could be almost a 5 star company.

    Cons

Management is a disaster. They are incompetent at best and extemely hostile if you address your concerns. It can be a toxic environment to work in. Staff is not recognized for all of the hard work and many hours they put in. Many are fearful of retribution from HR so many complaints are not reported. The structure is set up that you can either telecommute or advance. Many come to the organization for telecommuting but then later are told it is a "privledge" and can be removed at any time or directed to come into the office(nonperformance related). Also they are not told if you telecommute you can not advance up the corporate ladder. Which I suspect leads to the poor management, it's only people that want to come into the office that can be promoted.

    Advice to Management

Please investigate management complaints and have a more open door policy so issues can be addressed. There are a lot of dedicated, hard working and extremely intelligent staff that are working in extremely hostile environments

I worked at Healthfirst (New York) full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Some nice people, Location is assessable, Fairly clean at 100 Church St

    Cons

Inept Mgmt. Terrible systems, Sweatshop, Insensitive Mgmt.

    Advice to Management

Time to reinvent the wheel. Get a new system MS Dynamics cannot handle the workload. Get a mainframe based system and fire half od Mgmt.
