Approves of CEO

I worked at Hearst as an intern (More than a year)

Pros

The Management is very supportive and although it varied from department to department, they are generally very receptive to employee feedback. Working in Hearst Tower is one of the greatest office buildings anyone could ask to be in , and the fast paced company moves with the speed and decisiveness of a much smaller corporation. The people working their are both young and bright and are given great reign to make the best of their jobs and the company as a whole. Very big on promoting from within and almost all employes seems very happy there.

Cons

Some of the fashion magazines can be a bit "Devil Wears Prada"

I have been working at Hearst full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

    Great co-workers, established local brand

    Cons

Seriously lacking in the fundamentals. No sales/media training for employees. Leadership lacks strategic vision. No consideration of clients needs and wants. 80s mentality to sales and closing new business.

    Advice to Management

Invest in your people, create a product that really works for merchants, provide merchants with testimonials/information about success stories, market your product/services. Horror stories of massive turn over -- hoping reps would build business in one month. Brutal...
