I worked at Hertz as an intern (Less than a year)

Pros

The day to day had lots of sale opportunity. The only thing is they sell this as a managerial role, and just like everything else you do not have anything to do with management. You sell insurance.

Cons

You are forced to sell insurance to people that can not afford it. They max you out at 24 hours a week but the work week starts on Friday so you always get screwed over. The work was so mundane and boring. You are their whipping post for a few months.

Advice to Management

Tell the truth about what your interns will be doing. Your business model is so outdated and the only way that locations can make any money is to con people into things they don't need and can't afford.

    Disapproves of CEO

I worked at Hertz full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

The only Pros to working at Hertz were coworkers (most of them anyway)

    Cons

    To many hours
    To little pay
Senior management does not care about their employees. You are just a number to them, and they can replace you.

    Advice to Management

Care about your staff, get to know what turns their wheels. Stop using negative reinforcement to get your employees to meet their sales goals. Unfortunately the opposite will happen most of the time, they wont want to do the work for you. Pay your employees more, give raises, and stop changing the bonus plan so that it is to difficult to achieve.
