I worked at Hertz full-time (Less than a year)

Pros

Cheap healthcare is nice, marketing is fun.

Cons

Get written up fairly often, vacuum cars with dress clothes on, Management Trainee position is not management training, its sales.

Advice to Management

Restructure HLE staffing to differentiate: Managers, Salesmen, Drivers/Auto Detailers.

I have been working at Hertz full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Ability to work independently. Ability to make money depending on how well you relate to people and how persuasive you are to sell there products.

    Cons

Horrible upper management skills that do not focus on employee development and health related safety. Under-staffing and overworked environment that presents little to no compensation for the amount of effort you put into the job. Shabby Human Resources department that is quick to dismiss claims related to employee rights. New managerial decisions is focusing more on making the company wealthier rather then making their employees happier or provided resources much needed to succeed in this career choice.

    Advice to Management

When selecting managers for your selected branches look at the skills and qualifications for each person. Don't select a person for their job based on likability.

I worked at Hertz as an intern (Less than a year)

    Pros

The day to day had lots of sale opportunity. The only thing is they sell this as a managerial role, and just like everything else you do not have anything to do with management. You sell insurance.

    Cons

You are forced to sell insurance to people that can not afford it. They max you out at 24 hours a week but the work week starts on Friday so you always get screwed over. The work was so mundane and boring. You are their whipping post for a few months.

    Advice to Management

Tell the truth about what your interns will be doing. Your business model is so outdated and the only way that locations can make any money is to con people into things they don't need and can't afford.
