I have been working at Hertz full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

You (and your family) get great discounts and if you sell well, you can make a lot of money based off monthly sales bonuses. Once you get higher up in the company, you qualify for higher bonuses and car priveleges. Most of the people that work in the offices are great - you will probably make a lot of lasting friendships.

    Cons

40 hour weeks don't exist, you'll be lucky to work less than 50. Weekends barely exist. Hope you don't like holidays either, you only get like 5 of them a year. You will have to wear professional clothes, then run out and vacuum and wash cars in those clothes, but don't you dare get anything on them while cleaning a car. Corporate will allow people to book reservations within half an hour when you have no cars at your location and, to the customer, this will be your fault. You won't get paid well on a per hour basis, they say they make up for it with all the overtime and sales incentives, but really, you work way too much for way too little pay. The benefits offered aren't the greatest. Dental is good, medical however, will have a $1200 deductible before they will start to even pay a portion of your medical fees. It will be very hard to have a real social life outside of work.

    Advice to Management

Have better time management. High turnover isn't just because people find it's not the right job for them. We get burned out. Working 55 hours per week every week makes everyone want to quit. We barely have vacation or holidays, it makes it not worth it to work for the company. Treat your employees better.
