I have been working at Hertz full-time (More than a year)

Pros

flexible schedule, plenty of autonomy

Cons

stifling atmosphere, ignorant direct management, massive company extremely slow to change, no upward mobility, below average pay, management lives in a world of platitudes and catchphrases.

Advice to Management

listen closely to the employees and act for their benefit - and they will then act for yours.

I have been working at Hertz full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Hertz gives newly graduates with minimum or no experience a chance to enter to the workforce. There are plenty of overtime for those who wants to earn extra money.

    Cons

The company's culture is all about number. Upper level of management are careless of their employees. As a matter of fact, they treat you as if you are very expendable. The whole attitude is "I'll find someone else if you can't do it."
The turn over rate is extremely high since the pay is very low. I personally think it's an insult to your 4 year college degree. It's certainly true about having to clean cars.
Working hour is usually very long (55-65 hours pe week) as the upper level management prefer to keep staffing to minimum. In addition, you will find yourself working with the UNWANTED employees very often since the good ones usually move on to other opportunities.

    Advice to Management

Happy employees make happy customers and happy customers usually return and refer.

    Pros

Access to corporate vehicle with free gas, and opportunity to move through out the country. Stable source of income and insurance benefits

    Cons

Hours are not supportive to family life and work balance. Old school boys club mentality towards females in upper management. Male dominated field.

    Advice to Management

practice better and fair promotion and business practices within managment
